The annual Bridlington Kite Festival, a popular event in the resort town of Bridlington, Yorkshire, will take place in May 2024. Over two festival days, the skies over the Sewerby Fields near Bridlington in Yorkshire will light up with colorful kites of various shapes and designs. Expect to see kites shaped like frogs, snakes, lizards, and even dragons, adding vibrant colors to the typically gray Yorkshire skies, which local hero David Hockney would surely have appreciated.
In addition to demonstrations by professional kite flyers, visitors will have the opportunity to fly kites themselves under the supervision of instructors (kites are available for rent).
